Great pics today. Love to see these ghosts of the past still visible for those who will look for them.
I love faded signs. Back in the day they were ads, today we think they are art, at least I do.
I've yet to see it, but I would love to see someone restore this sort of thing. You see them all over the place in Melbourne, and they'd look great brightened up!Thanks for sharing this!
As the archivist for The Coca-Cola Company, I was thrilled to see the photos of the old Coke mural on your site. I'm only two months into my own blog (Coca-Cola Conversations.com), and I'm glad to see folks in Terre Haute are interested in this kind of history. Coke actually began using murals as a way to advertise in 1894, and our first mural -- in Cartersville, GA -- still exists today. Though it's not the home of our first mural, Terre Haute is near to our hearts because it's the home of the design for our Coke contour bottle, created by the Root Glass Company. I hope you'll check out my blog for more info on Coke's heritage! Thanks -- Phil Mooney
